The Turkish government was instrumental in helping the Muslim community to construct the National Mosque.

The Turkish government was instrumental in helping the Muslim community to construct the National Mosque.

I am also sure that quite a number of individuals who may be Muslims also contributed to the project.

We never heard these our Christians telling the team behind the construction of the National Mosque to ditch the project and use the cash to build schools, hospitals and other projects.

Just like the National Cathedral, the clergy, individuals and organizations have been called upon to contribute to build it and we have these same Christians raising issues with lack of schools, hospitals, poor roads, etc.

So when the National Mosque was being constructed, there were no need for schools, hospitals and roads to be constructed? We only became aware of the need to get these projects done when the National Cathedral’s idea was promulgated.

What a beautiful edifice the National Mosque is! Why are Christians, not Muslims, kicking against the National Cathedral raising issues with challenges we have in infrastructure?

No one can convince me that the National Mosque is not a very important project. It is hugely important and so is the National Cathedral. Let’s be fair when looking at this matter. We can’t approbate and reprobate depending upon which one suits our convenience.
