Though out of sorts throughout the whole day yesterday, I think I chanced upon a story about their running mate saying the Komenda Sugar Factory would work again under the NDC.
You can only get this from an orator who doesn’t know close to diddly when it comes to matters relating to how an economy is run.
If she had a basic knowledge and understanding of why the Komenda Sugar Factory has been a catastrophe on our necks, she wouldn’t have made such a fleeting point.
Her comment was populist as much as it was uninformed. In any event, why didn’t they make it work when they put up that edifice?
The Komenda Sugar Factory was not economically viable. Expert advice was overlooked as political considerations gained the upper hand.
Komenda lost steam years ago with its sugarcane production. Even the lands which used to favour sugar plantation lost their efficacy. The factory should have been sited elsewhere in the region or country.
If the NDC had the competence to liberate the factory from its crisis-laden state, they would have done so before they were booted from office.
Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang should stop betraying her knowledge on such matters. Her statement is comedic much as it is premised on her lack of appreciation for matters only the Bawumia’s can understand better.
She is very ignorant and that’s what you get when you select an orator to partner a self-proclaimed orator.
