ALABI RESPONSIBLE FOR EX-PRESIDENT MAHAMA’S LOSS – ATUBIGA LAMENTS
A leading member of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Stephen Atubiga is on a rant, expressing his disdain and accusing Prof. Joshua Alabi as being responsible for the defeat of Ex-President Mahama and the NDC in the just ended December 7 elections.
Mr. Atubiga, who is also a communication member of the NDC, expressed his outrage on why the NDC Presidential Candidate has still not sanctioned Prof. Alabi for his incompetence and absurd strategies deployed in collating results of the 2020 elections which was poorly done.
According to Mr. Atubiga in a post on Facebook, it was “very irresponsible, unstrategic, reckless, careless, unwanted and an intentional river blindness” for Prof. Alabi, the Campaign Manager of the NDC, to have only two representatives in the EC’s strong room, anticipating them to vividly monitor collation of the election results.
Mr. Stephen Atubiga also mentioned that, Prof Alabi as the campaign manager was not personally present in the EC’s strong room throughout the collation and should be reprimanded. He added that, Alabi could have equally positioned all the former NDC Presidential aspirants at various selected regions as his campaign coodinators behind the party structures, to ensure that they had a second look after collation from the regions to national with their reps in EC’s strong room. This could have given the right results due JDM for victory, he posited.
The leading NDC member also stated that, it was the responsibility of the campaign manager to ensure their party collation systems were
brought up to speed and so, Mr Alabi should have sat back to work on that instead of running around with the flag bearer, especially, the week before the elections. According to Mr Atubiga, it was necessary for such to be done so they could have backup in case of system failure or crush.
Mr. Atubiga did not forget to undermine the leadership skills of Prof Alabi noting that, a good campaign manager was supposed to declare his Candidate winner in 24hrs at most, after election, before EC does. He was also expected to work with the party to send collated results of his Candidate to all media houses immediately after declaration at various constituencies and regions.
Mr. Atubiga further indicted Alabi for not trumpeting the results of their candidate but rather sleeping whiles delegating responsibility to only two party members who were even non-executives of the party, in the EC’s strong room.
The NDC communicator revealed his inability to sleep and eat since Nana Addo was declared the winner of the election. He added that he is still in disbelief of the defeat of John Dramani Mahama at the Polls.
This rant by the NDC communicator comes in the wake of John Mahama and the NDC filing a petition at the Supreme Court calling for a runoff of the Presidential election.
