Barker H Vogues and his cohorts are vehemently agitating against the President’s presence at Sir John’s funeral last week.

They say Mr. President has set his own laws and have flouted same.

I fail to decipher how the President actually flouted his own laws per what these people are saying.

The President and for that matter, the government, did not organize the funeral. They attended a funeral organized by Sir John’s family.

Or he was to abandon the event when he saw the crowd? The President himself was shielded throughout the event.

People look at this matter from a point of view that does not fit same. A funeral for Sir John in his hometown cannot be compared with a funeral held in Accra. You can’t prevent the people from attending his funeral.

I am not saying for a second that flouting the protocols was the best but the matter must be put in proper context.

Maybe the funeral should have been put on hold for a little while or till a time COVID-19 Is no more here.
