Bridget Otoo, in her period of efflorescence at Media General’s outfit, TV3, was middling at best. She was simply an average broadcaster whose absence from the media industry did not cause anyone any nostalgia.

Bridget Otoo, in her period of efflorescence at Media General’s outfit, TV3, was middling at best. She was simply an average broadcaster whose absence from the media industry did not cause anyone any nostalgia.

A decision by Metro TV to employ her as a mere news anchor should not and cannot cause any form of a stir in the political landscape. A mere news reader, irrespective of her political affiliation, does not instill any fear in anyone.

It came as hugely perplexing that our NDC friends were all over the place claiming that an order from above had led to this less-than-average newscaster being sacked from the station.

It was a pack of lies packaged to help hype that NDC journalist. A news reader reads news items prepared for her to read on set. It is not as though she has any direct relationship with what should be read and what should not.

Randy Abbey’s biased refereeing on his Good Morning Ghana is too obvious as he usually jumps in to defend NDC panelists whose backs maybe against the wall. His analysis are mostly in favour of the NDC, but nobody has asked for him to be retrenched from Metro TV.

If a Kahuna in the shape of Randy Abbey whose work cannot be underestimated by any stretch of the imagination has not been forced to leave Metro TV, how would this shadow of a newscaster be forced to leave?

Our NDC friends and their newfound friend, Manasseh should come up with stories which exude a modicum of credibility. This invented story about Bridget Otoo will not cajole us to watch her on the station.
