COCOA FARMERS PENSION STARTS IN OCTOBER ~ Fiifi Boafo
The Public Affairs Manager of COCOBOD, Mr. Fiifi Boafo, has said that cocoa farmers will start enjoying pension soon.
In a post sighted on his Facebook timeline, Mr. Boafo has stated that, in line with President Akufo-Addo’s overwhelming desire to give back to cocoa farmers more than what they deserve, the scheme will soon be rolled out.
“COCOBOD, NPRA and Trustees for the Cocoa Farmers Pension Scheme will from Monday 30th August start the pilot registration of cocoa farmers in New Edubiase district in the Ashanti Region” he wrote on Facebook.
This, he continued, is in preparation for the roll out ahead of the 2021/22 cocoa season. The pilot starts in October, he stressed.
Upon the assumption of office in 2017, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo pledged cocoa farmers of his commitment to ensure that cocoa farmers are given pensions so that they can take good care of themselves when they retire from farming.
The Joseph Boahen Aidoo-led COCOBOD has worked tirelessly to ensure that this cherished dream becomes a reality. COCOBOD, under Mr. Boahen Aidoo, has grown from strength to strength, thanks to prudent measures and technologies introduced by the outfit.
