GHANA TO RECEIVE US$1 BILLION FROM IMF

The IMF is disbursing US$650 Billion from its Special Drawing Reserves (SDRs) to member states to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their respective economies.

All member states including the G20 countries (China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Germany, France etc) are benefiting and in fact the developed countries are taking the lion share.

Only US$33 billion is coming to Africa which Nigeria is taking (US$3.35 Billion) out of the total amount.

This is not about borrowing due economic mismanagement.
It is Covid impact mitigation support.

The opposition will make noise that the Akufo-Addo’s government has gone to borrow again from the IMF.

That is not the case. This is a disbursement to all member states of the IMF.
