IGNORANT NDC YOUTH LEADER MISFIRES ON UTAG’s STRIKE
George Opare Addo comes across as a nescient, unlettered youth leader whose ignorance on matters of public concern defies conventional logic.
For a National Youth Organizer to jump onto the bandwagon of discussions around UTAG’s strike over conditions of service without a fair knowledge about what the whole issue entails is more than shocking.
It tells you why the youth wing of the NDC appears to be in coma since its leader is a complete ignoramus.
Pablo doesn’t know that the impasse between UTAG and the government did not start from 2017. It is not as though this administration reached an agreement with UTAG in 2017 and has failed to fulfill same, leading to this latest issue.
As a matter of fact, this is an issue which has been on the table for almost ten years now. Around 2011 or 2012, UTAG and the then Mills/Mahama administration reached an agreement.
It was never honoured. UTAG wants that agreement to be effected. If the then administration had fulfilled its side of the bargain, we wouldn’t be here today.
We are hopeful that an amicable solution will be found sooner than later for academic work to continue. Members of the NDC are the last people to wade into this matter since they dishonoured the agreement at the time.
Pablo must read a bit about these matters before making public comments about same.
