Industrious Kumawu citizen in London, Mr George Agyemang Dwumah, sadly passes away on hearing his mum’s death
The late Mr George Agyemang Dwuma, aka Kofi George, a native of Kumawu in the Ashanti region but residing in London for the past three decades, has sadly passed into eternity on Monday, 8th February 2021. He kicked the bucket exactly a week after the passing of his mum, Obaapani Yaa Asantewaa, aka Yaa Ankrah, in Ghana.
George was a bit unwell for a few days. However, the unexpected announcement of his mother’s death did exacerbate his illness, becoming the last straw that broke the camel’s back. His spirits dumped. Overwhelmed by sorrow due to his mum’s death, breaking the affinity they had for each other as mum and last born son or child, his fighting energy just disappeared, culminating in his death at the age of 55 years.
This is not the moment for me to pay tribute to my father, by extension of the Akan culture, but to express my condolences to the entire bereaved family and to inform all Ghanaians in the United Kingdom, especially, Kumawuman citizens of the passing of one of their industrious compatriots.
As the family is preparing to fly the body back home for internment, it is just customary to inform and permit his loved ones to pay him their last respect by way of viewing his remains laid in state.
