Mariano Barreto’s outbursts are in sync with coaches who fail to live up to expectations when given teams to manage.
It is as though he were blindfolded when he was putting his pen to the contract laid before him. All the challenges he has enumerated have been with us since time immemorial.
Asante Kotoko is no Manchester United or Real Madrid but it is the best in the country. A good coach should know what he is signing up for before he puts pen to paper.
If he had won the league, he wouldn’t be telling us about these issues. Accra Hearts of Oak has worse infrastructure yet they managed to win the league (though with the help of referees).
Barreto should stop blaming his tactical deficiencies on what the team has and doesn’t have.
If he can’t give us any better performance next season, he might as well leave us alone. The cacophonous noises from him are becoming too much.
